Farhan Ali concentrates his practice in the area of local property taxation.
Mr. Ali helps prosecute complex property tax appeals as part of McCarter & English’s national tax practice. He also advises clients on property tax issues and liabilities, including exemptions, PILOT programs and structures, urban enterprise zone filings, ad valorem taxation, and valuation.
Mr. Ali represents clients regarding numerous property types, including nuclear power plants and related utilities, reservoirs, hotels, apartments, student housing, nursing homes and assisted living facilities, data centers, office buildings, office complexes, and corporate headquarters.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Ali was a law clerk for the Honorable Patrick DeAlmeida, Presiding Judge of the Tax Court of New Jersey.
Mr. Ali graduated cum laude from American University - Washington College of Law in 2010 where he held numerous Dean’s Fellowships and served as the Executive Editor of the Administrative Law Review.
