Mr. Boccassini is a partner with the Business and Financial Services Litigation Group of McCarter & English, LLP and a member of the firm's Executive Committee. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation in Federal and State Courts in New York, New Jersey and Delaware.

Mr. Boccassini has successfully represented clients in a broad spectrum of civil matters, including alleged violations of the securities laws and Federal and State RICO laws, shareholder derivative claims, professional negligence actions, breach of contract claims, breach of fiduciary duty claims, insurance broker malpractice claims, disputes arising out of business transfers and asset purchase agreements and the enforcement of non-compete agreements. Mr. Boccassini also has experience conducting internal corporate investigations and counseling boards of directors on corporate governance and related issues.

Mr. Boccassini recently obtained a summary judgment dismissal of an $8 billion short-selling RICO conspiracy case in favor of his clients, a preeminent hedge fund group and its principal, in a highly publicized litigation in the Superior Court of New Jersey. An experienced trial lawyer, Mr. Boccassini also represented a major financial institution in two successful jury trials and two appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in a case in which the bank, in its capacity as indenture trustee, was sued for approximately $90 million by secured equipment trust certificate holders alleging breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and violation of the federal Trust Indenture Act.

In addition to his considerable trial experience, Mr. Boccassini has also represented clients in various alternative dispute resolution forums, including the American Arbitration Association and the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution. In 2011, Mr. Boccassini secured a multi-million dollar award for a major chemical company client in a binding arbitration arising from a chemical supply contract. As trial counsel, Mr. Boccassini successfully defeated claims in excess of $30 million and prevailed on a counterclaim of approximately $10 million.

Mr. Boccassini also has considerable experience representing clients at the post-trial level. His significant appellate wins include affirmance of a $33 million judgment before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. In another appellate victory, the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court affirmed the lower court's complete dismissal of a $25 million lawsuit brought by an asset-based lender against Mr. Boccassini's client, a corporation engaged in the business of mail-order advertising and retailing of clothing and other merchandise.

Mr. Boccassini is also highly experienced and knowledgeable with respect to e-discovery, having directed a team of McCarter attorneys and IT professionals responsible for the review and production of over 25 million pages of documents in a Multi-District Litigation in the Central District of Florida, noted as the largest and most compressed ESI production effort at the time. He has counseled clients of various sizes on electronic discovery best practices. Mr. Boccassini serves on McCarter & English's E-Discovery committee and is a member of the SEDONA Conference®, the premier authority on the preservation and production of electronically stored information in civil litigation.

Mr. Boccassini serves on the Board of Directors of the Rutherford Education Foundation, a charitable organization formed to advance the academic, athletic and extracurricular experiences of students in the Borough of Rutherford, New Jersey, where he resides with his wife and three children.
