Mr. McLean is Special Counsel in the Environment & Energy and Corporate practice groups who advises clients on matters of general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, securities law and regulatory compliance. He has a diverse transactional practice, having worked on domestic and international matters in industries such as energy, chemicals, heath care, life sciences, transportation, private equity, consumer products and banking.
Mr. McLean regularly represents clients in the renewable energy space. In 2010, Mr. McLean was appointed by the President of the New Jersey State Bar Association to Co-Chair that organization’s first ever Special Committee on Renewable Energy, Clean Technology and Climate Change. Mr. McLean’s energy practice is particularly focused towards wind and solar development. His representative clients include major renewable energy and infrastructure funds, public utilities, leading equipment manufacturers, project developers, lenders and large independent power producers. He has experience siting renewable power projects on designated brownfields.
While at The Washington & Lee School of Law, Mr. McLean was a Lead Articles Editor for the Washington & Lee Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice. As an undergraduate, Mr. McLean was the captain of the 2002 Bowdoin College Men’s Varsity Lacrosse team.
Prior to joining McCarter English, LLP, Mr. McLean was an associate in the Corporate & Securities group of a leading law firm.
In 2012 and 2013, Mr. McLean was recognized as a Rising Star by New Jersey Super Lawyer Magazine.
Mr. McLean lives in Bernardsville, NJ with his wife and two children. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, ice hockey and tennis.
