Mr. Voigt represents employers in a wide variety of employment-related matters, including wrongful discharge cases, employment discrimination cases, state and federal court injunction actions, breach of contract cases, trade secret/proprietary information cases, NLRB unfair labor practice proceedings, arbitration matters, OSHA citation cases, and wage-hour claims.

Mr. Voigt has successfully litigated discrimination claims, numerous arbitration cases involving a variety of employee discharge, employee discipline or contract interpretation issues, on behalf of employers facing unfair labor practice charges, and trade secret/non-competition cases.

Mr. Voigt has obtained summary judgments in state and federal courts on behalf of employers accused of wrongful discharge, discrimination, and breach of contract, and in OSHA cases on behalf of employers confronting substantial penalties and/or abatement costs. He has also negotiated collective bargaining agreements and litigated binding interest arbitration on behalf of employers.

Earlier in his career, he served as assistant counsel for Regional Litigation in the OSHA division of the Office of the Solicitor, U.S. Department of Labor, Washington D.C.

Mr. Voigt has been a frequent speaker on labor and employment issues before the Council on Education in Management, the Connecticut Business and Industry Association, Chambers of Commerce, the Connecticut Bar Association and for individual employers.

Mr. Voigt has been recognized as a Chambers USA "Leaders in their Field" lawyer in Employment and Labor Law for 2009-2013. He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America and "Super Lawyers" in Connecticut. Mr. Voigt has been named the Best Lawyers' 2012 Hartford Litigation-Labor & Employment Lawyer of the Year.

Representative Matters

Successfully litigated a jury trial on behalf of an employer facing a $2 million age discrimination claim.
Obtained summary judgment in state and federal courts on behalf of employers accused of wrongful discharge, age discrimination, race discrimination, marital status discrimination, breach of contract, etc.
Obtained summary judgment in OSHA cases on behalf of employers confronting substantial penalties and/or abatement costs associated with OSHA citations.
Litigated numerous arbitration cases involving a variety of employee discharge, employee discipline or contract interpretation issues.
