Mr. Vajtay is the Firm's Managing Partner and a member of the Executive Committee. His practice is concentrated in transactional federal tax and business planning matters, including advising on taxable and tax-free mergers and acquisitions; the organization, reorganization and strategic tax counseling of closely-held corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint ventures; the negotiation and structuring of buy-sell agreements; and the analysis of tax issues associated with equity-raising transactions undertaken by public and closely-held corporate and unincorporated business entities.
Mr. Vajtay has particular experience with respect to issues involving Subchapter T cooperative corporations and sophisticated like-kind exchange transactions.
He is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Seton Hall University School of Law, a former chairman of the Taxation Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and is a frequent lecturer on topics relating to the federal taxation of, and business planning for, partnerships, S corporations and limited liability companies.
Mr. Vajtay is recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyer for 2006-2009 and 2012-2013 editions and is listed in the 2007-2013 issues of The Best Lawyers in America. He has also been named the Best Lawyers' 2011 Newark Tax Lawyer of the Year.
