10/7/2009 Finding Dollars Through Alternative Energy: What Non-Profits Should be Asking
New Jersey's non-profit hospitals, institutions and governmental entities stand to benefit as the alternative energy and utility industries combine with government agencies to support the development and financing of solar and other energy projects. Should a non-profit use its debt capacity and issue bonds or is such an entity better off negotiating a solar power purchase agreement and lease with a third-party developer? How will such projects impact tax and bond covenant considerations? How should a health care facility or other non-profit evaluate the economic, regulatory, legal and public policy issues?
A panel of distinguished industry participants will discuss, in an interactive format, the prospects and opportunities for financing alternative energy projects, especially solar, to support the non-profit energy consumer's needs.
