Dr. Christopher Nichols is a patent attorney representing pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food-processing, chemical, and agricultural companies of all sizes. His work includes the preparation and prosecution of US and foreign patent applications as well as patentability, infringement, validity, due diligence analyses, and opinions. Christopher performs portfolio analyses for investment purposes, including representing investors and target companies. He also assists innovators and emerging companies with strategic intellectual property development and licensing, including spin-offs from universities.

Previously, Christopher was a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Research Fellow, served as a biotechnology patent examiner in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and has 14 years’ experience at a large general IP firm.

Neuroscience: neurological disorders, including Huntington’s Disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, and Parkinson’s Disease; brain tumors, and neurological disorders

Therapeutics: antibodies, gene therapy, botulinum toxin, cancer therapeutics, small molecules, vaccines, anti-sense RNA, iRNA technology, stem cells, including pluripotent and multipotent cells

Molecular Biology: novel proteins, recombinant nucleic acids, vectors, cell models, transgenic animals

Food Processing: food chemistry, food processing and cooking equipment, byproduct reclamation

Agriculture: plant breeding, plant genetics, pesticides, including biological and chemical agents, soil amendments
