Elliott S. Schreffler focuses his practice on general corporate matters, advising clients on their overall business strategy as well as drafting and negotiating corporate transactional documents in various contexts. He has experience with mergers and acquisitions; entity formation; company restructuring; securities law matters; and insurance company, insurance agency, and insurance broker regulatory compliance. He also works on an array of pro bono projects, including drafting a complaint to compel a federal agency to comply with a Freedom of Information Act request.

Elliott began his legal career as an associate at an Am Law 100 law firm, where he was a member of the Corporate and Securities Practice and the Insurance Regulatory and Transactional Practice. Elliott amassed experience with corporate governance issues, federal securities law research, contracts review, due diligence projects, formation and restructuring of insurance companies, defending regulatory enforcement actions brought by states insurance regulators, and assisting emerging InsurTech and start-up companies with product development and other enhancement objectives while maintaining regulatory compliance.

While in law school at Rutgers University, Elliott was an editor for the Rutgers University Law Review and a teaching assistant for the Legal Analysis, Research, and Writing course. Elliott also had a highly fulfilling experience as a member of the Rutgers Children’s Justice Clinic, where he represented juvenile clients in the New Jersey Superior Court in Camden.
