John V. Galluccio is a partner in the firm's Real Estate Practice Group. He joined McCarter & English, LLP in 2002 and became a partner of the firm in 2007. Mr. Galluccio's practice comprises all aspects of real estate law, with a particular focus on the areas of construction financing, acquisitions and distressed debt dispositions. Mr. Galluccio is also a member of the real estate department's leasing practice, representing both landlords and tenants in preparing and negotiating office, industrial and retail leases for properties throughout the United States.

Most recently, he represented a Fortune 1000 company in connection with the leasing and subleasing of over 250,000 square feet across the United States, including a 123,000 square foot lease in a Class A office building in Short Hills, New Jersey; the owner/operator of multiple Burger King franchises in connection with the refinancing of debt secured by real estate and cash flow; a multinational manufacturer in connection with the ground leasing and subsequent sale of an industrial warehouse with an aggregate sale price of $10 million; a special servicer with respect to the foreclosure and disposition of various properties in the Tri-State Area with aggregate sales price of $26 million; a lender with respect to loans of $15 million and $5 million secured by residential condominium/apartment developments in New York City; a scrap metal brokerage and recycling company in the expansion of their existing New Jersey facilities via acquisition of land from governmental entities and foreclosing lenders; an environmental services company in connection with the real estate aspects of their corporate acquisitions of recycling companies across the country; and a medical center with respect to various easement and development issues related to the ground leasing and development of a portion of their hospital site.

Mr. Galluccio has been featured in Financier Worldwide, commenting on the outlook for the real estate sector, and the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. He was also a featured guest instructor at the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority's Redevelopment Training Institute, presenting on relevant issues in property acquisition and disposition (including appropriate entity structuring, due diligence and title requirements) and complex leasing transactions.

Mr. Galluccio is a member of the executive advisory committee of Habitat for Humanity Newark, having represented them in connection with the acquisition, development and sale of low income housing units for over a decade. He is an active member of the Closter Lions Club, a local Bergen County charitable affiliate whose national organization boasts 1.35 million members in 206 different countries. Mr. Galluccio was recently named an Empire State Counsel Honoree in recognition of his pro bono service.
