Kris Henning is a Partner in McCarter’s Business Litigation department. His practice focuses on a broad range of commercial litigation, with an emphasis on class action defense. He also has significant experience with employment disputes, involving both complex and class action litigation.

Kris represents clients from a variety of industries, including technology and healthcare, in high-stakes commercial and class action litigation. His achievements include defeating class certification and/or obtaining summary judgment on behalf of Hewlett Packard in numerous consumer class actions alleging product defect, warranty and/or false advertising claims. He also obtained summary judgment for HP, securing the dismissal of a former business partner’s claims in litigation seeking no less than $45 million in damages. In addition, Kris has defeated several class actions targeting a large health insurer, including those asserting complex ERISA claims.

A former senior in-house counsel with Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Co., Kris has developed a unique insight into the needs and concerns of his corporate clients. He is known for his ability to integrate an in-depth understanding of his clients’ business models and goals into innovative and effective legal representation, and to translate complex legal issues into clear, concise and actionable advice.

Prior to his private practice career, Kris served as a law clerk for the Honorable Eduardo C. Robreno in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
