Morgan Jones is an associate in McCarter’s Corporate, Securities and Business Transactions practice group. He represents early- and growth-stage technology companies through all stages of the technology lifecycle, from structuring, formation, financing, licensing, and data matters through exit. He works closely with companies to launch and develop products, build customers and scale, acquire technology assets, and negotiate customer deals and strategic partnerships. He also advises small and mid-cap companies on M&A, joint venture and strategic investment matters.

Morgan has extensive experience as an in-house attorney who understands how companies run. He most recently served as in-house privacy and contracts counsel at an Am Law 100 firm, handling its global General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance initiative. He also has held in-house positions with a B2C company and a specialty chemical manufacturing company—experience that enables him to partner with clients to more effectively handle their business concerns related to data privacy, nondisclosure agreements, regulatory/FTC guidance, brand protection, IP, and contract negotiations, including software as a service (Saas) and other vendor contracts.

Morgan received his JD from Seton Hall University School of Law with an Intellectual Property concentration, where he was a Monmouth County Bar Foundation Scholar. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University School of Engineering, where he was a member of Omega Chi Epsilon (Chemical Engineering Honor Society).

Morgan has been a speaker at various events, including the New Jersey State Bar Convention, Rutgers Engineering Society events, and the Philadelphia Section of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers events.
