Ms. Ugolev is an associate in the Intellectual Property & Information Technology group. She focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, and copyright infringement, licensing and assignment disputes, and related commercial litigation matters, including cases involving contract disputes and allegations of unfair business practices. She also assists clients with transactional issues pertaining to intellectual property and is involved in pro bono work, including assistance with copyright registrations.
Ms. Ugolev has litigated cases in various district courts throughout the country in diverse fields, such as medical device products, pharmaceuticals, computer software, LED technology, and consumer products. Her clients range from multinational corporations to small businesses and non-profit organizations.
Ms. Ugolev has a technical background in chemical biology and biomedical engineering. Prior to beginning her legal career, Ms. Ugolev engaged in a two-year research project involving cardiac valve tissue engineering through stem cell differentiation. Ms. Ugolev is also a registered patent attorney with experience assisting in the prosecution of patent applications in the area of mechanical engineering.
Ms. Ugolev graduated
with honors from Stevens Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Biology. She earned her J.D.,
cum laude, with a concentration in Intellectual Property from Seton Hall University School of Law where she was recognized as a Distinguished Scholar and awarded a full tuition scholarship for her academic and professional achievements. Ms. Ugolev also serves on the Firm’s Associates Committee.
