Richard F. McMenamin counsels clients on insurance coverage issues and litigates their insurance coverage disputes. He also audits corporate insurance programs to ensure placement of proper coverages. Richard has experience with many types of insurance coverage disputes. Additionally, he has represented a number of healthcare organizations in connection with the placement of insurance coverage and in disputes with commercial liability and professional liability insurers.

Richard’s experience includes environmental, asbestos, and other toxic torts under general liability policies, as well as coverage disputes under hull and liability, workers’ compensation, and war risk policies for commercial airlines. He also has handled bad faith litigation; professional and directors’ and officers’ liability matters; and coverage issues resulting from sexual harassment and employment discrimination claims. Representing both owners and contractors, he handles construction-related disputes under contractors’ all-risk (CAR) policies. In addition, he has been involved in coverage issues in insurance liquidations, including claims against guaranty associations.

Richard speaks and writes on insurance law issues. He also has served as a course planner for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s Annual Insurance Law Institute.

As a volunteer, Richard is a lawyer for the Support Center for Child Advocates in Philadelphia, where he is a court-appointed attorney for abused and neglected children. He is a former member of the board of directors of Special Olympics Pennsylvania, one of the largest chapters of Special Olympics International, and continues to represent the organization in a variety of legal matters.

Richard has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for 2008-2017, and listed in the 2006-2018 editions of The Best Lawyers in America, he is also AV Preeminent Peer Review Rated in Insurance Law by Martindale-Hubbell in 2012.
