Rich Hudock is a partner in McCarter’s Corporate, Securities & Business Transactions practice. He focuses his practice on corporate transactional and commercial law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity, debt financing, IP licensing, commercial agreements, and other general corporate matters. Rich’s clients span numerous industries, including technology and software, life sciences, energy, financial services, and global manufacturing and specialty chemicals. In addition, Rich has served as outside general counsel on behalf of multiple clients.

In his more than 19 years of experience, he has represented both public and private companies as in-house corporate counsel and as a partner in private practice. His in-house positions include serving as Assistant General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Arkema Inc., a publicly held global specialty chemicals company; Corporate Counsel of Safeguard Scientifics, Inc., a NYSE holding company that invests in emerging and growth stage technology and healthcare companies; General Counsel of Fiberlink International Corp.; and Assistant General Counsel of Fiberlink Communications Corp., an emerging growth software provider acquired by IBM.

Prior to joining McCarter, Rich was a member of a business boutique law firm in Philadelphia and former Executive Team member, as well as a partner at Dilworth Paxson LLP. He began his legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable James T. Giles, Chief Judge, and the Honorable Edward N. Cahn, Chief Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Having served as both in-house counsel and external legal counsel, Rich has developed a unique insight and in-depth understanding of the business and legal issues facing his clients. He focuses on offering results-driven solutions and servicing his clients’ needs with maximum efficiency.
