Robert A. Brooks has more than 30 years of first-chair trial experience, beginning with a federal court clerkship, followed by a stint in the U.S. Attorney’s office in Connecticut. Mr. Brooks has extensive experience litigating and trying cases that are factually and technically complex with a particular emphasis on trade secret and patent litigation. He has handled a number of “bet the company” cases on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants alike, with damage claims in the tens and hundreds of millions of dollars. Mr. Brooks’ matters have involved a wide range of technologies including telecommunications, medical devices, microprocessors, computer software, LEDs, lasers, nuclear detection equipment, multi-gas analyzers, jet engines, gas turbines, and helicopters. Mr. Brooks has represented Fortune 500 corporations in courtrooms across the country but also works extensively with start-ups and emerging companies and small-cap entities to help them leverage high-value patent portfolios through licensing or, where necessary, litigation.

Mr. Brooks is admitted to practice in Connecticut and Maine. He is not admitted in Massachusetts.
