Tiffany Stevens is special counsel in the firm's Real Estate Practice Group. She practices real estate and land use law, regularly representing commercial real estate clients in various stages of their projects. She assists clients in connection with many types of commercial real estate lending, including permanent and interim financing, co-lending arrangements, and mezzanine finance, the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate and the negotiation of commercial leases. Ms. Stevens has extensive experience in the representation of investment banks and institutional lenders in connection with the origination and restructuring of credit facilities secured by most types of commercial property.

In the planning stages of a project, Ms. Stevens regularly appears before Planning and Zoning Commissions and other governmental agencies, representing clients who seek to develop their property. She has worked with municipal staff to amend local zoning regulations to accommodate the needs of clients seeking to build large-scale and multi-use developments.

While at McCarter & English, Ms. Stevens has devoted a significant amount of time to providing pro bono legal services to an individual exonerated after a lengthy period of wrongful imprisonment. She actively negotiated a $5 million settlement with the State of Connecticut on behalf of the first individual exonerated in Connecticut through the use of new DNA evidence. For this work, McCarter & English was awarded the 2007 Pro Bono Award from the Hartford County Bar Association.

Recently, Ms. Stevens was one of several special honorees who received the 2009 YWCA Women in Leadership Award. Ms. Stevens was named as one of the Hartford Business Journal's 40 under 40 recipients for 2010 and has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Connecticut Rising Star for 2010-2015. Tiffany Stevens has also been recognized by Chambers USA for 2017-2019. Super Lawyers is published by Thomson Reuters.  Chambers is published by Chambers and Partners. No aspect of this advertisement has been approved by the Supreme Court of New Jersey.

Prior to joining McCarter & English, Ms. Stevens was law clerk to the Honorable Lubbie Harper, Jr., of the Connecticut Appellate Court.
