McCarter & English partners Ron Leibman, Michael Puzyk, and Zack Hadzismajlovic join a panel on the New Jersey State Bar Association’s webinar “Cross-Border Law: Key Strategies for Tax and Business Attorneys.”
With the US international trade landscape in a state of flux, multinational traders and taxpayers have a lot to think about. New tariffs will require tax and business attorneys to reevaluate their advice to their clients. This two-part program is designed to provide a comprehensive look at cross-border trade and tax issues. The first session offers an essential overview for those newer to cross-border contracting and tax issues, including fundamental principles, compliance obligations, and structuring considerations. After a break, the second session, examines high-level legal tariffs and their implications, and tax structuring strategies in response to the evolving trade ecosystem.
During this informative program, Ron will discuss issues in structuring contracts for cross-border transactions, Michael discusses taxation in cross-border transactions, strategies for protecting clients from financial exposure and trade violations, and how to reduce tax and tariff liabilities. Zack will discuss compliance while dealing with shifting US tariffs and foreign retaliation. All three will also participate in a discussion centering on real world examples of trade related issues.
