Creditors of Zucker Goldberg & Ackerman LLC objected Friday to the foreclosure law firm’s request for a longer exclusivity period and more time to confirm its reorganization plan, saying it hasn’t shown good reason for a time extension and is apparently attempting to block alternative proposals.
The official committee of unsecured creditors took issue with Zucker Goldberg’s Jan. 13 request that the bankruptcy court extend its exclusivity period for seeking confirmation of its Chapter 11 plan. The creditors argued that the size and complexity of the case does not warrant an extension, especially considering that the firm is liquidating, not reorganizing, and it has already had ample time to provide an adequate disclosure statement.
The unsecured creditors committee is represented by David J. Adler of McCarter & English LLP.
