The current national socio-political climate poses serious challenges to fundamental rights for LGBTQ+ people. In some instances, the adoption of a public policy that directly limits creating, affirming, welcoming, and equitable places of public accommodation show the erosion of hard-fought rights for people in the LGBTQ+ and in particular for transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary youth. While here in New Jersey, there are a plethora of strong legislative and common law protections, New Jersey is not insulated from the forces that pose challenges to equal justice for LGBTQ+ people.
