For first timers and serial entrepreneurs, the challenges of managing a growing business can be overwhelming – but rewarding. In this program, CEO-for-hire Desmond Pieri will discuss some of the key issues that face every startup CEO.
Topics will include:
• What makes a good CEO?
• How to avoid taking money from VCs, and how to raise VC money (if you must!)
• How to hire, motivate and incent well; how to fire someone (and how soon)
• The anatomy of a turn-around (if that’s what you need to do)
• What outside help (legal, financial, etc.) you need and when
Desmond Pieri has been working with technology companies at all stages of development for over 30 years. Since 2000, he has served as the interim CEO or COO of 15 startups in the U.S. and abroad.
