Manufacturers of pharmaceutical, medical device and food products rely on Debra Perry for her deep knowledge of the regulatory landscapes in which they operate combined with her extensive experience defending products liability claims in state and federal courts.

Debra Perry advises regulated biological product, pharmaceutical and medical device companies on legal and compliance issues during the development, marketing and distribution phases of their products. She provides strategic planning and risk management guidance regarding FDA submissions, conduct of clinical trial, enforcement issues and post-approval promotional, marketing and labeling issues.

Manufacturers, distributors, and importers of food, food additives and dietary supplements turn to Debra for regulatory consulting services. She offers strategic planning and risk management guidance regarding compliance with FDA, EPA, USDA, FTC and cGMP regulations. She lectures and writes extensively about compliance and risk management.

Pharmaceutical companies and other manufacturers rely on Debra to defend mass tort product liability litigation at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts. She has significant experience representing multinational companies in prescription and OTC medication litigation involving atypical antipsychotics, antidepressants, hormone products, narcotic analgesics and diabetes drugs. She also defends industrial product liability claims and helps companies select, train and manage defense counsel nationwide and abroad.

Debra develops and implements strategies to confront the complex issues that arise in these types of litigation, including multidistrict issues, defense of medical monitoring claims, federal preemption, product identification and market share liability, punitive damages, exposure, epidemiological analysis of causation, Daubert (and its state law equivalents) hearings on the admissibility of medical and scientific expert testimony, and the application of statutes of limitations.

Debra also handles disputes involving estates, trusts, fiduciaries, guardianships, family issues and closely held family businesses. She counsels fiduciary and beneficiary clients in estate planning and administration matters, and appears in Probate, Surrogate’s or Chancery courts and various alternative dispute resolution forums. Debra has handled numerous litigated and non-litigated family disputes in New Jersey and New York involving estates, trusts and guardianships. She has represented both beneficiaries and corporate and individual fiduciaries (executors, trustee or guardians) in matters involving estate, trust and guardianship administrations. She also handles contested family law matters.
