Naida Čolakhodžić is a Technical Specialist working on intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution matters. Naida’s litigation contributions for both defendant- and plaintiff-side clients spans Federal Court and Patent Trial and Appeal Board proceedings and includes technical analysis of accused products and prior art, developing infringement and non-infringement strategies, working directly with expert witnesses, and preparing depositions.
Naida is also involved with business development matters, including due diligence of companies, patent portfolios, commercial products, and damages-related analyses.
Naida also works on patent preparation and prosecution matters in a variety of fields, including mechanical systems, medical devices, advanced tissues, and analytical instrumentation.
Prior to joining the firm, Naida worked in research and development at both startup and mid-sized technology companies. At Optodot Corporation, Naida contributed to lithium-ion battery technology advancement, developing multi-functional, nano-porous coatings and methods of battery manufacture for improved battery performance, increased safety, and reduced cost. At LeMaitre Vascular, Inc., Naida developed medical devices and methods of manufacture to increase efficiency and safety of surgical procedures. Some of her work included developing catheters with integrated sensor systems to provide enhanced physiologic monitoring during complex invasive procedures. Naida attained her Biomedical Engineering degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute where, partnering with UMass Memorial Medical Center (Worcester, MA) pediatric neurosurgeons, she worked on a team to design, develop, and evaluate a tunneling and expandable sheathing system for endoscopic neurosurgery to be used in the treatment of neurological diseases and brain cancer.
