Dr. Paul Zagar represents clients on a broad range of intellectual property matters including patent prosecution and counseling for chemical, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical companies.
Paul prosecutes patents covering pharmaceuticals, small molecules, biologics, biodegradable consumer products, oral hygiene products, fragrances, food products, and medical devices. He has extensive in-house and outside counsel experience and provides clients with invalidity, non-infringement, and freedom to operate analyses relating to small and large molecules, including therapeutic antibodies.
Paul has also represented clients in Hatch-Waxman, district court, and Federal Circuit litigation, as well as post-grant procedures, where he drafted claim construction briefs, expert reports, and appeal briefs.
Prior to joining the legal sector, Paul was a general and vascular surgeon and provided patients with surgical, emergency and critical care. As such, Paul has been an end user for many medical devices and has used this experience to advance the prosecution of medical device patent applications.
