Petros Markopoulos’ practice focuses on public finance law including the structuring and facilitation of a variety of tax-exempt bond transactions. Petros serves as bond counsel, bank counsel and underwriter’s counsel in connection with an array of governmental, conduit and exempt facility transactions. Petros’ experience encompasses serving as counsel for bond issues involving multi-family housing, colleges and universities, independent and charter schools, clean water and drinking water.
Previously, Petros was a mergers and acquisitions tax associate at a Big Four accounting firm where he provided tax due diligence services and addressed tax issues related to potential acquisitions; helped with corporate and partnership acquisition/divestiture deal structuring; researched and interpreted U.S. federal income tax law; and performed financial analyses to assess tax consequences of specific transactions.
