Stesha Emmanuel has significant experience defending Fortune 500 companies and manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer products, and industrial machinery in product liability matters. She is active in state and federal courts throughout New England, defending clients in single and multi-plaintiff matters and regularly obtaining favorable outcomes for her clients. Additionally, Stesha has significant experience in asbestos and toxic tort litigation, representing manufacturers of various products across multiple trades.
As an experienced civil litigator, Stesha handles all aspects of litigation including drafting and responding to discovery, regularly conducting and defending depositions, participating in mediations, and arguing substantive motions. In addition to her products liability practice, Stesha also practices employment and labor law and has handled internal investigations, discrimination cases, and retaliation claims as well as matters involving non-compete agreements.
Stesha is active in the firm’s pro bono program and recently served as lead counsel, in partnership with ACLU-Boston, and secured a critical victory when the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court struck down a state statute that was being used to impose jail time and fines against people asking for financial support on public roads as unconstitutional. She also regularly counsels and represents domestic violence victims. Stesha is involved in numerous legal and civic organizations in Massachusetts and most recently served as president of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association.
