Vicki Franks focuses her practice on complex patent disputes. She has experience litigating a breadth of technologies including pharmaceutical products, recombinant vaccines, medical devices, wireless hand-held devices and computer data structures, and textile and chemical engineering properties for papermaking belts. Over the course of her career, she has appeared before federal district courts throughout the U.S., including for claim construction, discovery disputes, and trial.
Vicki also has appellate experience before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. She is often called upon to speak at accredited CLE seminars on litigation and appellate practice. She has multiple peer-reviewed publications, including the lead article in the 2014 edition of the Federal Circuit Bar Journal.
Using her extensive experience in patent litigation, Vicki assists with patent prosecution matters. In particular, her analysis of U.S. Patent and Trademark office actions in the field of composites has contributed to the grant of several patent applications.
She also engages in pro bono work representing veterans with their disability benefit claims.
