Wendy Simon-Pearson represents electric entities in transactional and litigation matters. Her experience includes work on energy project development in the nuclear and electric energy sectors, supply chain management, financing, and US export controls.
She previously served as general counsel and founder of the legal department for Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation (USNC), a nuclear power tech startup. In her role at USNC, Wendy led negotiations to form USNC’s Joint Venture to build the Chalk River Laboratories demonstration project and negotiated the first Project Host Agreement with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories in Canada. She served on the Board of Directors of the United States Nuclear Industry Council from 2020 to 2022.
Fluent in Mandarin, Chinese, Wendy has negotiated in both English and Chinese, including drafting arbitration documents for disputes at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. She has advised on transnational strategies for clients in multiple arbitrations and domestic legal proceedings. As a law student, she served as an intern for Judge Charles N. Brower and represented The George Washington University Law School at the Hong Kong VIS East Moot commercial arbitration competition in 2018. She was also an international law research assistant to professor Ralph Steinhardt and interned at various institutions in Washington, DC, including the US Trade Representative, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Congressional Executive Commission on China.
Active in pro bono matters, Wendy was named to the Washington State Supreme Court’s 2022 Pro Bono Roll for contributing more than 50 hours of pro bono services.
