McCarter & English is pleased to announce that Abbey Horwitz has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).
ACTEC is a national organization of peer-elected trust and estate attorneys and law professors. Fellows are selected based on their outstanding reputation, exceptional skill, and substantial contributions to the trust and estate profession through activities such as writing, teaching, speaking, and bar leadership. The College is dedicated to advancing the profession through education, the development of best practices, and efforts to improve and reform probate, trust and tax laws and procedures.
Abbey counsels individuals and families on estate and tax planning, including planning for family members with disabilities, trust and estate administration, guardianship matters, and business succession issues. Her practice includes the preparation of sophisticated estate plans and special needs trusts, as well as representing families in guardianship proceedings and advising fiduciaries throughout estate and trust administration.
With Abbey Horwitz’s election, McCarter’s Trusts, Estates & Private Clients practice now includes six ACTEC Fellows: Gerard Brew, Tim Ferges, Laura Kelly, Jill Lebowitz, Jud Stein, and Abbey Horwitz. Jill Lebowitz currently serves as ACTEC’s New Jersey State Chair, and Gerard Brew is a former New Jersey State Chair.
