Kate Buck, partner in the firm’s sports and entertainment industry team, spoke with Bloomberg Law about the recent NCAA’s name, image and likeness (NIL) $2.8 billion settlement with former collegiate athletes. Kate says that although the settlement’s size is notable, “it’s not going to save [the NCAA] from ongoing litigation necessarily.” Kate said “there is a “lot of uncertainty” about the proposed revenue-sharing model among schools and how to ensure even pay distribution between women and men athletes under Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments.
