A case that captured national attention is now raising questions about fairness and accountability.
Former NFL player and Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez filed a guilty plea in his case involving a drunken fight in downtown Indianapolis.
McCarter partner and former US Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana Zachary Myers spoke with Indianapolis Star about the defendant’s planned guilty plea and the public’s expectation of equal justice.
“This incident brought significant national attention to our city, including false narratives spread by commentators and public officials before the evidence was available,” Zach said. “Now that Mark Sanchez intends to plead guilty to a crime, the public will want to see whether he will be treated the same as others who commit similar offenses.”
