To remedy harms resulting from Google’s monopolization of the general search services and general search text advertising markets, the federal district court in Washington, DC imposed a series of behavioral remedies. The case will likely not end here, and the remedy decision could potentially be appealed by both Google and the government.
McCarter & English antitrust partner Robin Crauthers spoke with VitalLaw and questioned the likely success of any appeal. “Mehta’s opinion is well-reasoned, leaving little room for strong appellate arguments,” Crauthers said.
Robin also quoted about the decision in The National Law Journal and Law360.
