Guillermo Artiles, chair of McCarter’s Government Affairs Practice, joined five-dozen government and economic development officials and business leaders from New Jersey on a nine-day multi-country economic mission to East Asia. The Choose New Jersey Economic Mission trip, which was led by Governor Phil Murphy, included visits to Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, with the goal of deepening investment and trading ties between East Asia and New Jersey. The group participated in meetings with business leaders, trade organizations, government officials, higher education leaders, startup incubators, and other key commercial and economic partners.
The trade and investment relationship between East Asia and New Jersey is a pivotal driver of economic growth and cross-cultural exchange. East Asia’s rapid economic development and technological advancements partner well with New Jersey’s diverse industries and strategic location, making for a mutually beneficial partnership.
