As a new bill is introduced in Nebraska, Real Property Tax Planning & Appeals partner Frank Ferruggia speaks to Newsweek to weigh in on the potential effect of the bill.
Ferruggia says if the bill is passed, it could be “a substantial hammer that taxpayers could yield on the financial authorities.” The proposed bill would consider a local county’s assessed property valuation in Nebraska the same as an offer to purchase at the assessed value if the owner decides to sell, and the homeowner would have 90 days to make a decision.
