In order to convince the New Jersey Supreme Court that pardons should lead to expungement, even for people with multiple convictions, William Palatucci of McCarter & English LLP said having faith in a client can make all of the difference.
Palatucci and others had worked for years to help wipe out client Tommy Odom’s criminal record. Odom pled guilty to aggravated assault in May 1994 and to possession of a controlled dangerous substance in May 1996. In January 2018, then-Gov. Chris Christie gave him a full pardon for his prior convictions.
