The Tri-County Scholarship Fund recognizes McCarter & English partner Judge Jose L. Linares (ret.) as a 2026 Trustees for Justice Honoree. Judge Linares and fellow honorees will be celebrated at the Lawyers for Tri-County 11th Annual Awards Dinner on May 19, 2026.
The Annual Lawyers for Tri-County Awards Dinner recognizes members of the New Jersey legal community for outstanding achievement and leadership. These honorees serve as exemplary role models for the youth through their vocations and service to others.
Judge Linares, Chair of McCarter’s Alternative Dispute Resolution group, has more than 40 years of experience in judicial service and private practice. He served as Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and served as a superior court judge in Essex County, New Jersey. Judge Linares is actively involved in numerous civic and nonprofit activities and regularly volunteers his time to various causes supporting young adults through both educational efforts and local youth sports programs.
