Government Affairs chair Guillermo Artiles spoke with Law360 Pulse about the firm’s lobbying success in 2020.
He agreed last year was a tough year, but that didn’t hold back McCarter’s team. The firm saw $701,503 in lobbying receipts last year, according to state data.
Artiles said McCarter & English’s most notable government affairs win was an effort on behalf of every living former governor arguing that their pardon power, afforded by the New Jersey Constitution, should not be limited by statute.
“2020 was a tough year for many of us personally, and many of our firm’s families, but our government affairs group fared very well,” he told Law360 Pulse. “We doubled our year-over-year revenue, welcoming aboard several new clients in the tech, cannabis and health care industries — all of which had good years themselves. As always, we champion our client’s efforts and in turn do well alongside them.”
