Demonstrator Scott Hayes, who was charged with assault and battery following an altercation, may avoid prosecution once he completes pre-trial probation. Upon fulfilling the conditions of his probation, the charges against him will be dismissed. McCarter partner and former federal prosecutor Glenn MacKinlay, who represented the Hayes, spoke with The Boston Globe and said, “We are pleased that the DA’s office and the police departments have agreed to a deferred dismissal. We appreciate the work that went into arriving at this result and bringing this to a conclusion.”
