McCarter & English received the American Bar Association’s (ABA) 2019 Pro Bono Publico Award during the ABA’s Annual Meeting in San Francisco. This award is the top honor given by the ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service and recognizes the firm’s outstanding commitment to providing free legal services to underserved people and communities.
Moy Ogilvie, managing partner of the firm’s Hartford office, said, “We take on pro bono matters because these cases make a real, meaningful difference in the day-to-day lives of underserved men and women. Offering legal aid for veterans who have been left behind has been a transformative, eye-opening experience for McCarter’s attorneys, and we look forward to continuing our work to serve Connecticut’s most vulnerable individuals and communities.”
