The company that planned to build a $1.3 billion data center and power plant on the University of Delaware’s high-tech campus is suing the university over its termination of the agreement last summer.
The Data Centers (TDC) filed suit in Delaware Superior Court on Wednesday, accusing the university of breaking contracts to lease land for the center and buy steam from its power plant; of capitulating to opposition from Newark residents, and of making false statements about the project to the press and the public.
The company is seeking “at least $200 million” in damages.
