McCarter & English today announced the relocation of its Boston office, currently located at 265 Franklin Street, to The Chiofaro Company’s flagship development, One International Place, in the heart of Boston’s Downtown Waterfront. The firm will move in May 2027.
The move marks an exciting milestone in the firm’s continued growth and commitment to serving clients in the bustling life sciences and high-tech industries across the region.
The firm signed an 11-year lease for 47,466 square feet of office space. The modern, sophisticated design reflects the firm’s forward-looking approach, promoting collaboration while maintaining the privacy and discretion critical to client service.
“Our move to this sophisticated space reflects more than a change of address—it signals an evolution aligned with the expectations of our clients,” said Boston Office Managing Partner, Maria Laccotripe Zacharakis. “A thoughtfully designed, modern workspace not only enhances collaboration and efficiency among attorneys, but also conveys confidence, discretion, and credibility to clients who entrust the firm with their most critical matters. In this way, the new space becomes an extension of the firm’s identity—demonstrating its commitment to innovation, service, and the highest standards of legal practice.”
The lease negotiations were managed by McCarter partner Cynthia Keliher for the firm and by Geoffrey Howell for The Chiofaro Company.
“McCarter & English’s decision to relocate to International Place is a powerful endorsement of the transformation underway across the property,” said Donald Chiofaro Jr, Vice President of The Chiofaro Company. “As we near completion of this reinvestment, we are seeing leading firms like McCarter & English choose International Place not just for its location, but for the elevated, amenity-rich environment that supports how people want to work today.”
