For the sixth time, Law360 has named McCarter & English a New Jersey Regional Powerhouse. Law360 Powerhouses are firms recognized as handling some of the biggest deals and most high-profile litigation in the region. The 2025 honor reflects the firm’s landmark victories, including a unanimous New Jersey Supreme Court ruling affirming that stand-alone class action waivers in consumer contracts can be enforceable without arbitration clauses. “We always work well together to ensure that we can get the best results for our clients,” said partner Christopher Rojao. The firm also secured a key win for Capital Health in a case that clarified the scope of New Jersey’s Wiretap Act, with partner Scott Christie calling the decision “a vanguard ruling” on online data privacy.
McCarter & English continued to grow its bipartisan government affairs team, expanding by 27% in 2024. Deputy managing partner Mary Gabriel pointed to the firm’s deeply rooted collaborative culture: “People come here, and they make a career here… they are able to build a fulfilling career that they can take pride in.” Looking ahead, the firm is positioning itself to meet evolving client needs in areas such as data privacy, corporate, and real estate law. “Our job is to stay ahead of that,” Gabriel said.
