McCarter & English was recently recognized and honored by Delaware Volunteer Legal Services (DVLS) for its pro bono work with the organization. In their latest Newsletter, DVLS recognized McCarter & English for the incredible support, “McCarter & English sets a shining example for attorneys, law firms and the legal community at large. Their donation of countless hours of pro bono assistance as well as their financial support has provided much needed resources and access to justice to many deserving and disadvantaged individuals and families. They demonstrate unwavering dedication to the provision of legal services to the less fortunate. The Board of Directors and Staff of DVLS are eternally grateful to McCarter and English and all they do to support our mission.” McCarter’s donation to DVLS will enable them to upgrade their badly outdated case management system. Our Wilmington attorneys assisted DVLS clients with diverse legal matters ranging from housing matters, custody issues, estate planning for the elderly and terminally ill, Mega Wills events to representing clients for the Protection from Abuse Program. Daniel Silver of our Wilmington office was instrumental in recruiting several attorneys to volunteer for these cases. Besides handling cases on behalf of DVLS clients, David White, a Wilmington partner and Pro Bono Committee member, supervises the matters, coordinates and host CLE training events offered by DVLS in the Wilmington office. As stated, “DVLS appreciates the coordinated effort of McCarter’s Pro Bono Committee not only because they support the attorneys who do pro bono work but also because they encourage attorneys to do pro bono work.” We congratulate the Wilmington office for their dedication to Pro Bono.
