Duo Joins the Firm’s Newark Office
A trusts and estates attorney with nearly 30 years of experience, Jill Lebowitz represents individuals, fiduciaries, family and corporate foundations, and charitable organizations in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and tax matters. Her practice spans the design and implementation of complex estate plans, trust and estate administration, family creation matters, fiduciary litigation, and advising tax-exempt organizations on governance and compliance.

Widely recognized for her thought leadership and her deep commitment to the legal profession and broader community, Lebowitz is the New Jersey State Chair of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and a Past Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Section, where she continues to serve on the Section’s Board of Consultors. She was also recognized among the Best Lawyers in America© in Trusts and Estates, 2024, and is a New Jersey Super Lawyer© in the Estate & Probate Section.
Horwitz counsels individuals and families on a full spectrum of sophisticated estate and tax planning matters. She prepares wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts—including insurance, grantor retained annuity, and qualified domestic trusts—as well as durable powers of attorney and healthcare directives. Horwitz also manages trust and estate administration, handles guardianship matters, and assists clients with forming and structuring business entities.
Horwitz brings a personal passion to her work: she serves on the Board of Trustees and Development Committee for the P.G. Chambers School, a nonprofit organization supporting children with disabilities and developmental delays. As the parent of a child with special needs, she brings not only technical skill but also unique empathy and insight to clients navigating similar challenges in their estate planning.

Lebowitz received her L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law, her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law – Newark and her B.A. from New York University. Horwitz received her L.L.M. in Taxation from Villanova University, her J.D. from New York Law School, and her B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.
