Wilmington was ranked as one of the best cities for attorneys in a study by the consumer-data research firm ValuePenguin. Here, Wilmington-based attorneys explain why the city deserves its high ranking.
”Most Fortune 500 companies are incorporated in Delaware so you get a lot of litigation here,” said Michael Kelly, chairman of the firm McCarter & English. “You can get those high-dollar business cases in Wilmington.”
Wilmington attorneys say the city offers more than just better jobs and higher salaries. It allows attorneys to have a higher quality of life than much larger cities.
Attorneys who spoke with The News Journal cited the city’s close proximity to Philadelphia and Baltimore. But practitioners also noted Wilmington offers plenty on its own.
“It’s a great place to live,” Kelly added. “There are social events, museums, and the opera and play houses. Wilmington has a lot to do.”
