Former federal prosecutor Desiree “Desi” Grace has been appointed as Hudson County’s first inspector general, a newly created role aimed at strengthening accountability and transparency in government.
“I’m grateful,” Desi told Law360 Pulse. “Public service is incredibly rewarding, and the creation of this office provides a real opportunity to implement positive change.”
Desi previously served as First Assistant US Attorney for the District of New Jersey. During her tenure with the US Attorney’s Office, she held several leadership positions, including Criminal Division Chief and Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division, overseeing matters involving economic crimes, cybercrime, healthcare fraud, and national security.
“Being the first person to hold this office is really meaningful,” she said. “I understand the mission, and I’m honored to be entrusted with building this office from the ground up.”
