New Jersey Lawmakers Push to Overtake New York with New Crypto Regulations

Guillermo Artiles, chair of the firm’s Government Affairs practice, speaks with Politico Pro about a bill currently making its way through New Jersey  state legislature that would create a basic legal framework for digital asset businesses, which lawmakers say will compete with a licensing system in New York that the industry has characterized as expensive and cumbersome. Guillermo, who represents the Blockchain Association of New Jersey and has been involved in discussions involving the bill, said “We really want to also be the antithesis to New York here, which is just responsibly regulated. Not overly regulated.”
