NJBIZ has named McCarter & English partner Judge Jose L. Linares (ret.) to its Leaders in Law list for 2026 in the Third Party Neutral Professionals category. Annually, the publication recognizes legal professionals for their outstanding dedication to the profession and their communities.
Judge Linares, Chair of McCarter’s Alternative Dispute Resolution group, has more than 40 years of experience in judicial service and private practice. He served as Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and served as a superior court judge in Essex County, New Jersey. Judge Linares is actively involved in numerous civic and nonprofit activities and regularly volunteers his time to various causes supporting young adults through both educational efforts and local youth sports programs.
The 2026 Leaders in Law celebration will take place on March 31 in Somerset, NJ.
