PHILADELPHIA – A prestigious publication that covers law and the legal profession in Philadelphia has named Philip Amoa, a corporate lawyer with McCarter & English, to its 2014 list of “Lawyers on the Fast Track.”
The Legal Intelligencer will publish its list of up-and-coming stars, with full profiles of the honorees, in its Sept. 30th issue, recognizing young lawyers in Philadelphia and throughout Pennsylvania “who exemplify the very best of what the profession has to offer.” This year, 36 lawyers were named to the list, which aims to highlight “the next generation of Pennsylvania attorneys” under the age of 40 who are “already making an impact on the legal community and will [continue to] grow in stature as they advance in their careers.”
“Lawyers on the Fast Track” seeks to identify outstanding young lawyers from across Pennsylvania and from a diverse range of legal practice areas, markets, and law firm sizes, based on their record of excellence in four specific areas: their development of the law, advocacy, community contributions and service to the bar. The newspaper solicited nominations from law firms throughout the state, public interest groups, bar associations, and The Legal Intelligencer’s readership.
As a member of McCarter’s corporate group, Amoa focuses on representing middle market companies in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and other commercial transactions. He also represents private equity firms in connection with their investments in emerging companies, including structuring, organizing and executing acquisitions, financings and exit transactions, and handling general corporate matters on behalf of emerging companies. Amoa’s commitment to public service has led him to engage in extensive pro bono work outside of his commercial practice with not-for-profits and low-income entrepreneurs and business owners.
