Q&A with Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Jaynee LaVecchia

McCarter Partner and former New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Jaynee LaVecchia received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Jersey Law Journal. In a Q&A with the publication, Justice LaVecchia reflects on her career and the changing landscape of the legal profession.  She says, “I am exceptionally proud that my career and reputation in the legal industry and state government positioned me to be evaluated for work at the highest level of law in the state. After my nomination, and confirmation by the Senate, being appointed a member of the Supreme Court of New Jersey was my proudest professional achievement.” Justice LaVecchia also notes, “There is much more to the practice of law than what is seen in televised trials, TV shows, or movies. The law is not a “one size fits all” profession, and lawyers have a wide range of options for establishing successful and rewarding careers. Law school is an opportunity to learn broadly about the law, not just a place to learn one form of practice.”
