Ron Leibman, who focuses his practice on issues related to clients’ business- and law-related transportation, logistics and supply chain management, has joined McCarter & English as a corporate partner. Ron, who holds an M.B.A. in transportation and distribution management and was a senior logistics executive at a major supermarket concern before becoming a lawyer 22 years ago, will split time largely between the firm’s New York City and East Brunswick, NJ offices.
“Manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and distributors, as well as the carriers and third-party logistics providers that service them, all need sophisticated legal and business counseling, and Ron is ideally suited to provide that,” said Ted Grannatt, leader of McCarter’s Corporate, Securities and Business Transactions practice group. “He has the ability to advise on a broad spectrum of supply and logistics issues, including technology, outsourcing and data integration agreements, in nearly ever sector.”
Added Mike Kelly, chairman of the 400-lawyer firm: “Ron is the perfect complement to our transactional practices, solving clients’ issues related to transportation and logistics, where the problems can be complex. His combination of industry-side and legal experience enables us to be a one-stop shop for our clients.”
Ron is nationally ranked as a leader in Transportation by Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. He earned his law degree at Rutgers-Newark following business studies that led to an M.B.A. at Syracuse University, where he remains a member of the Supply Chain Advisory Board at the Whitman School of Management. He is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Commerce and Industry Association Of New Jersey’s Transportation Forum, and frequently writes and lectures on business and legal topics related to his practice.
He joins McCarter from Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland Perretti, where he was a partner and co-chair of the firm’s transportation and logistics practice.
